Helping customers around the world collaborate more effectively

At Dropbox Open in London today, we’re celebrating our customers—and with good reason. We're enabling greater collaboration in over 150,000 paying businesses across the globe—with tens of thousands based in Europe and more joining every day. And the list of companies on Dropbox Business spans a variety of industries: Auchan, The Absolut Company, Condé Nast Britain, Fritz Hansen, Macmillan Publishers, News Corp, Spotify, and Under Armour, to name just a few.

As businesses increasingly stretch across borders, they need tools that enable them to connect with people near and far. It’s more than just collaboration between employees, though—working with customers, partners, and vendors is critical. And Dropbox is helping these companies collaborate better with people both inside and outside their organizations.

At Dropbox Open, three customers shared their stories about how they’re accomplishing just that:

  • Channel 4, the celebrated British broadcaster, uses Dropbox to bring its innovative programming to the public and quickly share information.
  • Expedia Inc., the largest travel company in the world based on gross bookings, with 200 travel booking sites in more than 75 countries and featuring some of the leading online travel brands, leverages Dropbox to connect and empower its employees.
  • Lagardère Active, France’s largest media group, selected Dropbox to unify its business units, from the marketing teams at Europe 1 to the editorial staff at Elle magazine.

With the power of one of the world’s largest collaboration networks, customers like these are growing faster, improving user experience and sharing knowledge more fluidly. Companies looking for a tool that will allow employees to share information quickly and securely with internal and external partners choose Dropbox Business.

“We look for simple, flexible tools that do the job well. Dropbox was the obvious choice for us in that regard,” says Brian Brackenborough, CISO for Channel 4. “So many of our employees were already using the product before we rolled it out that we did not need to invest in much additional training.”

Just as important as end-user adoption is the ability to support IT workflows. “We invest in technology products that simplify our employees’ work and don’t get in the way of their productivity, while also offering best-in-class security,” says Chris Burgess, Vice President of IT at Expedia. Expedia leverages Dropbox’s Premier Partners, including Skyhigh Networks, to meet its security need. And with almost half their employees already on Dropbox, Expedia was able to minimize data migration, end-user training, and organizational change management as Dropbox is formally deployed across the enterprise.
