We’re excited to announce that Ali Dasdan has joined Dropbox as our new Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Ali will be responsible for strengthening our technical foundations, increasing our rigor in engineering and product development, and leading our companywide technical strategy.
Ali has the deep expertise needed to guide Dropbox's platform transformation as we expand capabilities to scale Dash, our AI-powered universal search tool. Ali comes to us from ZoomInfo, where he served as CTO overseeing all of engineering, platform, infrastructure, data, enterprise, and security. Under his leadership, ZoomInfo grew a domain-leading engineering team, expanded its technology platform, launched several key AI products including Copilot, and accelerated its move into upmarket. Prior to ZoomInfo, Ali was at Atlassian, where he oversaw engineering for Work Management for All Teams (Confluence, Trello, and Jira for Work Management) and demonstrated his ability for growth and scale.
Ali has spent much of his career working on large-scale distributed systems, big data, search, and machine learning — which was part of his PhD graduate work — and has a ton of experience building productivity software and big, foundational infrastructure. Throughout his career, Ali has tackled large-scale challenges, including growing teams, addressing tech debt, enhancing engineering velocity, and integrating AI/ML into products.
Ali’s breadth of experience will prove invaluable as we continue executing on our strategy of scaling Dash and simplifying and strengthening our profitable core business to deliver even greater value to our customers. We’re thrilled to welcome Ali to the team.
