Dropbox is now EBITDA positive. That means the company generates a profit, excluding interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. In an interview with Bloomberg Television on April 26, 2017, Dropbox CEO and co-founder Drew Houston announced the milestone and said, "It's rare for software companies to be operating at our scale with our level of profitability and to be growing at the rate that we are."
This is the latest in a series of financial achievements for Dropbox. In February of 2017, IDC reported that Dropbox is the fastest SaaS company to reach $1 Billion in revenue run rate. And at the Bloomberg Technology Conference in June of 2016, Drew announced that Dropbox was free cash flow positive.
