Starting today, we’re bringing Dropbox Dash—context-aware AI that connects to all your work apps—to even more people. With Dash, you’ll have everything you need to know for work in one, secure place.

Teams of all sizes can now download and setup the new Dash app in minutes—no sales or IT required. Find what you need using plain language, get AI answers about your work, and make your content even easier to organize and share with Stacks while keeping it all secure

We’re also bringing some of Dash’s most powerful AI features into the Dropbox experience you already know and trust. With AI in Dropbox, powered by Dash, you get smarter search, intelligent organization, time-saving summaries, and contextual answers from all the documents and media you already store with Dropbox. This new Dropbox experience is available now to a small group of existing customers, with wider availability expected in the coming months.

Meet Dash, your new AI teammate

You’ve probably seen reports that 95% of AI tools don’t get past the pilot stage, and driving adoption is a struggle. That’s because most AI doesn’t work across all of the content and tools your teams relies on to get work done. Consumer AI tools are powerful, but they weren’t designed to understand all of the context you need for work. And while plenty of companies are adding AI to their existing apps, they’re not much help for the work you do in other apps or tools where their AI can’t reach.

If you want answers and insights wherever you work, you’re not going to get it with generic intelligence; you need AI that actually understands you, your content, and your team.

This is why we built Dropbox Dash. With Dash, you get an AI assistant and search engine that connects to all the apps you use for work. And because Dash’s context-aware intelligence works across all your content and tools, you’ll always get the answers and insights you need. It’s like having an AI teammate that knows how and where you get work done.

Here’s how Dash helps you and your team do more with all your content and tools:

Search the way you think and find what matters fast, whether it’s the “content calendar for the Fall launch” or edits from the “desert sunset photoshoot.” From PDFs to PNGs, Dash’s multimodal search lets you describe what you’re looking for using natural language, just like asking a colleague.

Get answers about your work without switching tabs or tools. Ask “What’s new in the latest version of the client proposal?” or “Can you summarize all the reporting from last year’s brand campaign?” Then turn answers into action with Dash’s AI-powered writing tools.

Stay in sync with Stacks, living workspaces that make content easier to organize and share. Bring files, links, and updates together in one view for the whole team that’s always up to date. You can also ask questions—like “Can you give me a summary of this project?”—and get answers specific to that Stack.

Built-in access controls keep content secure. Dash is built on the same privacy and security principles Dropbox is known for. We’ll never sell your data, and we don’t use your content to build generative AI models. Your content is always yours.

A Dash app for teams you can setup yourself

With the new Dash app, teams get a personalized AI workspace that connects to all the tools they already use, including Slack, Microsoft 365, Notion, Canva—and Dropbox, of course. You don’t need to talk to our sales team to get started, and you can set everything up yourself in minutes. Dash takes your scattered, siloed content and gives you a single source of truth, turning information overload into organized clarity.

AI in Dropbox, now powered by Dash

If you’re an existing Dropbox customer, Dash also makes Dropbox even smarter. Because Dash in Dropbox learns from all the content you’ve already stored, you get powerful AI features within the familiar Dropbox experience you already know and trust. And the more you use Dropbox, the better Dash understands you and your team. The result: sharper search results, more relevant answers, and actually useful insights that help move work forward.

Find answers everywhere—even inside a video

Not all work happens in writing. That’s why we’re excited to announce AI startup Mobius Labs is joining Dropbox to help us take Dash’s multimodal capabilities to the next level. The Mobius Labs team has been developing custom AI models optimized for large-scale multimedia processing. Whether your work involves video, audio, or images, we’ll soon be able to support even more complex workflows for search and answers in Dash.

Bring the power of Dash into your workflows

Dash not only connects to the tools you already use, but also works inside them. With Dash’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) server—also launching today—you can securely search all your content directly within MCP-compatible apps such as Claude, Cursor, and Goose, without switching tabs or copy-pasting information. Whether you’re drafting an email or reviewing code, the answers and insights you need are always at your fingertips with Dash. Visit our Help Center to learn more
