Dropbox supports the Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund
Published on September 08, 2017
Hurricane Harvey has been devastating to the people of Houston and the region, and officials now project costs in the range of $180 billion. Sustained, longer-term fundraising initiatives are therefore critical. To continue our support of these efforts, we wanted to make the Bright Funds’ Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund that Dropboxers have been contributing to accessible to our US-based users as well. Starting today users can click on a banner on our homepage (or their own Dropbox homepage if they're logged in users), which will direct them to the Bright Funds site.
To date, the Fund has raised over $440,000. The organizations that the Fund currently supports are: Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative, Center For Disaster Philanthropy, All Hands Volunteers Inc., American National Red Cross, and Direct Relief. We are also closely monitoring Hurricanes Irma, Jose, and Katia. A number of Fund recipients are already responding.
