Since launching Dropbox Ventures, our $50 million initiative to back the next generation of AI-powered startups, we’ve been investing in entrepreneurs who are reimagining how we get work done. Our goal has always been to support founders who are using cutting-edge technology to reduce friction, unlock insights, and amplify human potential.
Today, we’re thrilled to announce our latest investments in five startups working to push the boundaries of what’s possible across design, security, language models, and enterprise AI: Onlook, Fastino, Halcyon, Multimodal, and TextQL.
Meet our newest portfolio companies
Onlook
Onlook is an innovative design tool that allows users to visually edit websites or web apps and write changes back to code instantly. By enabling designers and developers to work directly on React applications through a natural language interface, Onlook allows for real-time visual edits, empowering teams to modify webpage layouts, styles, and components effortlessly. We’re excited to work with them to bring this vision to life.
Fastino
Fastino is an AI research lab specializing in developing task-optimized language models (TLMs), which are engineered to be faster, more accurate, and significantly more cost-effective than large, generalist models. General-purpose LLMs, while powerful, are often excessive and inefficient for many targeted, production-grade use cases. Fastino solves a real pain point for customers by building TLMs that seamlessly integrate into production environments and solve core enterprise and developer use cases, like summarization and information extraction. We’re looking forward to finding new opportunities to collaborate with Fastino as the company works to help power next-gen AI workflows at enterprise scale.
Halcyon
Halcyon is an anti-ransomware platform that combines real-time threat detection, automated response, and AI-powered protection. Its lightweight endpoint agent fills critical security gaps by acting before backup recovery is needed. With ransomware attacks growing in both frequency and sophistication, Halcyon provides an essential layer of defense for modern enterprises—and we’re proud to back a team working to make ransomware defense more proactive and intelligent.
Multimodal
Multimodal builds company-specific Agentic AI for complex finance and insurance workflows. Its flagship product, AgentFlow, is an all-in-one platform for configuring, deploying, and orchestrating AI agents alongside human supervisors and third-party systems. By connecting natural language interfaces with structured processes, Multimodal enhances how information flows and decisions are made. This makes it a powerful building block for smarter, AI-driven workspaces and a natural complement to the pain points we’re trying to solve for our customers with Dropbox Dash. Multimodal’s focus on the finance sector, where workflows are especially document-heavy and rules-based, highlights the transformative potential of pairing search and summarization with adaptive automation.
TextQL
TextQL is an AI-powered data analysis platform designed to make enterprise data more accessible and actionable through natural language interfaces, making detailed analytics easier to use for non-technical users. The company’s data mapping layer connects relationships across structured data sources, enabling integration with far more systems than other solutions. We see TextQL as a complementary piece of technology that can work alongside Dash to crunch data and deliver insights across diverse structured data sources.
