Every year, more than 250 students from 50 countries attend the Cannes Lions School. The program helps creative professionals of all stripes—from young professionals to accomplished CMOs—grow new skills and find creative inspiration. At Dropbox, we believe creativity is precious, and so we’re proud to sponsor the Cannes Lions School. Students will use Dropbox Paper to capture, grow, and share their ideas throughout the week.

“For students, the creative toolkit is incredibly important—it’s how they capture inspiration. This year we’re excited to help students collaborate and combine their brainpower by using Dropbox Paper.”

Paper will form the foundation of each student’s creative toolkit, a place where they can take notes, share creative concepts, and ultimately, create together.

“For students, the creative toolkit is incredibly important—it’s how they capture inspiration,” said Steve Latham, head of talent & training at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. “This year we’re excited to help students collaborate and combine their brainpower by using Dropbox Paper.”

Collaborative by design, Paper lets students share ideas with others, and it lets their peers add new thoughts, offer reactions, or start conversations, right in the doc. It’s about helping students find inspiration together, letting them get to their best ideas without getting in the way.

Paper will also help students organize thoughts and collaborate on notes—without all the margins, formatting, and other distracting settings found in a typical doc. “At the Cannes Lions School, the importance of taking notes is incredible,” said Latham. “Students will go through so much in such a condensed week—they need something to keep track of it all.”

What sort of sessions will be keeping students so busy? The Cannes Lions School will feature 70 speakers, many from the top of their creative fields. Ryan Seacrest will share insights from his career as a TV host. Mario Testino will speak to the creative challenges of fashion photography. Dropbox’s own Collin Whitehead and Aaron Robbs will break down the benefits of transparent teams, and how an open creative process can help drive new ideas and better insights.

For each speaker, it’s an opportunity to share their own sources of inspiration, to demonstrate the creative toolkits they’ve used in their careers. Students can then use their notes, ideas, and conversations in Paper to apply what they’ve learned back at home.

We’ll be on the ground throughout the week at the Cannes Lions School, and we can’t wait to see what students will create in Paper. Stay tuned for Q&As with speakers, and follow our updates on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
