Global strategic design firm Designit puts human needs at the core of its business. Since its founding in 1991, the company has been transforming real human needs into products, services, and experiences that improve the way people everywhere live, work, and do business. Their human-centered approach applies just as much to their end-users as it does to their own 480-person strong team.

Today, we’re delighted to announce that Designit has deployed Dropbox Enterprise to centralize collaboration across all teams in its 13 global offices.

"We founded our company on a strong belief in collective creativity—there’s no such thing as one design king. Design is an extremely team-based process, and the products and services we design are made through true collaboration. That is why Dropbox fits so neatly into our ethos," says Mikal Hallstrup, Global CEO, Designit. “We started to build a collaborative culture 25 years ago; connecting our employees with technology and moving to Dropbox ensures we will continue to cultivate that culture.”

“We know that Dropbox is much more than EFSS... We have weaved [Paper’s] capabilities in across different teams in multiple locations.”

With the deployment, Designit is aiming to continually simplify day-to-day processes as the company scales throughout the world, following its acquisition by Wipro Digital. Being part of a globally listed company, Designit has strict security requirements to meet. So they were therefore keen to invest in a product that offered enterprise-grade security. Designit has physical offices in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and further expansion is on the horizon to support its growing customer base, which includes leading global brands across finance and telecom, to healthcare and airline industries.

Eyeing future growth, Designit wanted to centralize content to make collaboration easier, save time, and give the IT team more control. "Before we formally centralized our IT system, we found that Dropbox was already a popular platform amongst our employees, and therefore the move was purely organic,” Hallstrup says. “Dropbox is the solution that makes the most sense for our storage, sync, and collaboration needs due to it being able to scale quickly. We also deployed Office 365 to complement Dropbox, and both products work better together.”

Hallstrup noticed that some teams were very structured in the way they work, while others were more fluid and experimental. This is where the agility of Dropbox has helped. "We are being strategic and explorative in our approach; we know that Dropbox is much more than EFSS. For instance, we are using Paper, and we have weaved its capabilities in across different teams in multiple locations," he continued. For Designit it all comes down to the goal of “radically simplifying processes” while giving employees “the freedom to work in the way they want.” Paper, Hallstrup says, is “pure usefulness and usability.”
