Dropbox CFO Ajay Vashee

Vanessa Wittman to step down as CFO and Ajay Vashee to take the reins

Published on August 19, 2016

I’d like to share the news that Ajay Vashee will be our new CFO starting September 1. He’ll succeed Vanessa Wittman, who’s stepping down for health reasons. Vanessa has had a huge impact on Dropbox since joining us and has brought great breadth and depth of experience to the role. Under her leadership, we changed how our finance team partners with and drives our business. We became a company that’s better prepared for scale, more efficient, and—notably—free cash flow positive. She strengthened our global financial infrastructure, and we’re now building best-in-class revenue and accounting systems. We’re grateful for everything Vanessa has done for the company. She’s a beloved and inspiring leader at Dropbox, and we’ll really miss her. As CFO, Ajay will lead our financial operations and strategy around the world. He joined Dropbox in 2012 and has played a key leadership role in every major business and financial milestone over the past four years. He’s managed our fundraising activities, numerous acquisitions, and our budgeting and planning processes. During his time here, he’s overseen accounting, financial planning & analysis, tax, investor relations, strategic finance, and corporate development. Ajay has a background in venture capital, growth equity, and investment banking from his previous roles at NEA and Morgan Stanley. Vanessa will stay on until the end of September to help with the transition. We wish her and her family the very best, and we congratulate Ajay on his new role.
